Lizzie Borden Part Three " The End!"

The Jury

Reading over the court transcripts and all the evidence, i am convinced Miss Lizzie was guilty as hell. She got away, with it due to poor police work,a trampled crime scene, and because she was a woman. Plus there just wasn't enough evidence. People in the Victorian day, including the 12 men on the jury, just couldn't see the fairer sex swinging a hatchet and defacing people she was suppose to love. She might of been acquitted, but society never let her in their circles again. She was talked about, and feared. Lizzie and Emma inherited a lot of money.Several years after her and her sister moved into this grand house, in the rich part of town. Fondly named Maplecroft by Lizzie herself, the sisters had a falling out, and they never spoke again. Lizzie changed her name to Lizbeth. Lizzie died alone due to pneumonia at age of 66. Nine days later..her sister fell to her death, down the stairs, or was she pushed by an unknown, unnatural  force? Here is a little spooky trivia. Every person involved in the case, died within 11 years.. after the case was over. Was it a curse, or a coincidence? An issue i have is, i think maybe she had an accomplice. Maybe Emma was involved, she didn't rush home the day of the murders, she took her sweet time getting home. Bridgette the maid, lied during the testimony. She claimed there were no hard feelings between the family members. Which was untrue, everyone knew Lizzie hated her Step Mother. It was a fact the will was due to change the day of the murders. Everyone knew of her stealing ways. Did Bridgette lie, for respect of the families privacy, or was she involved, or just afraid of Lizzie? Was Lizzie illegitimate half brother involved, he had an appointment to speak to Mr Borden that week, he wanted acknowledged, and he wanted money. Mr. Borden wanted no part of him. Mrs. Borden knew about him too, and she did not want the embarrassment brought to her, or the family. I have even read that Dr Bowen, knew something and he was protecting Lizzie. Someone claimed they seen him burn a note, that Lizzie had given him. Here are some of the reasons i believe she is guilty.

  • Lizzie claimed when the murders were happening she was up in the barn loft looking for sinkers to go fishing with. The investigators, found the floor dusty with no footprints, but the footprints they left behind.
  •  The burnt blue dress, what was the need to burn it during the time the police were searching? could she of changed into that dress to commit the murders?
  • If all the doors were always locked behind them, and there was no force-able entry. How would someone get in?
  • She stayed in the house the night of the murders, if she feared her life, wouldn't she stay somewhere else?
  • It just so happened the family was murdered the day the will was to change? What luck!
  • She went to her friends house the night before, to paint a picture of fear. Was it really fear of someone planning to cause harm, or was it Lizzie's way of painting an alibi?
  • Why was Lizzie trying to buy poison? Why was everyone in the house sick except for her and Emma.  Please share your thoughts.
